How do I get certified as a Medical Assistant?
At Ross Medical Education Center, we encourage our graduates to continue learning. If you are looking for new opportunities at any point after graduation, we encourage you to test to become a CMA or RMA!

  • Credentialing is not typically required for employment as a Medical Assistant, but graduates of Ross Medical Education Center are eligible to become a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • In order to obtain one or both of these credentials, a graduate must sit for national credentialing examinations offered by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).

How do I get certified as a Medical Biller?
That extra credential could be just the thing that gives you the edge when employers are selecting skilled medical office staff.

  • Graduates of the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program qualify to take the Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist exam through the American Medical Billing Association.
  • To learn more about the CMRS exam through the AMBA visit www.ambanet.net.
  • These same graduates are eligible to sit for the Certified Coding Associate exam through the American Health Information Management Association.

How do I get certified as a Dental Assistant? At Ross Medical Education Center, we encourage our graduates to continue learning. If you are looking for new opportunities at any point after graduation, we encourage you to test to become a CDA! Credentialing is not typically required for employment as a Dental Assistant, but graduates of Ross Medical Education Center are eligible to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). In order to obtain this credential, a graduate must sit for national credentialing examinations offered by the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Students are eligible to take the RHS (Radiation Health Safety) exam through DANB as well as the ICE (Infection Control Exam). In addition, graduates may qualify to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification examination (CDA PATHWAY II) after working at least 3500 hours accumulated over a 24-month period or by working at least 3500 hours of a combination of full and part-time or only part-time work experience earned over a minimum of 24 months and a maximum of 48 months as a Dental Assistant (verified by dentist-employer. DANB offers national certification examinations, examinations leading to certificates of competency, and state-specific dental assisting expanded functions examinations. Licensure: Some states regulate the duties of Dental Assistants through licensure or registration to take Radiographs. Licensure or registration may require passing a written or practical examination.

Some states also define some dental assisting functions as “expanded functions” and require successful completion of the state administered RDA examination. This program The Dental Assistant program offered by Ross Medical Education Center does not currently address those expanded functions; therefore graduates are not eligible to take the state administered RDA examination to become Registered Dental Assistants.

Process for Expressing Concerns
Each member of the staff at Ross Medical Education Center works hard to ensure that you are provided the benefits of a professional learning environment. We encourage all of our students to bring any concerns to the attention of our faculty or campus director in order to have them addressed. If, however, you do not feel that your concerns were satisfactorily addressed, Ross provides the following formal procedures for addressing a concern.

Students must first meet with the school director in an effort to address the concern. If you feel that your concern has not been resolved, then you should file a written complaint with at Ross Education, LLC:

Ross will acknowledge receipt of your written complaint within three working days. A written response will follow within 10 working days. If the response still does not rectify the concern, you may request to arrange a meeting for the concerned parties. If a resolution is not reached during the meeting, the student may contact the Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission.

All complaints sent to the Commission must be in writing, with permission from the complainant(s) for the Commission to send a copy to the school for a response. The complainant(s) will be kept informed as to the status of the complaint as well as the final resolution by the Commission.

Michigan students may consider contacting the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth. All complaints considered by the department must be in written form, with permissions from the complainant(s) for the department to forward a copy of the complaint to the school for a response.
